Educational Framework
Before you start trading, you must complete four mandatory learning modules:

Module 1: Investment Fundamentals
What You'll Learn:
- Asset classes: stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, options
- How markets work: bid-ask spreads, trading mechanics, market makers
- Risk vs. return: understanding the risk-return tradeoff
- Valuation basics: earnings, P/E ratios, simple multiples
- Diversification: why it matters and how to do it

- Risk profiling: understanding your risk tolerance and time horizon

Your Investment Journey: June to November 2026
Preparation Phase
- Complete all four learning modules
- Your account is set up with starting capital
- Meet with your mentor/advisor to discuss strategy ideas
- Design your initial portfolio allocation
- Document your investment thesis and strategy statement
Active Trading Phase (4 months)
- Monthly cycles:
- Trade actively based on your strategy
- Adjust as markets move
- Rebalance if needed
- Bi-weekly Q&A sessions with investment advisor
- Ask questions, discuss ideas
- No trading advice given (you decide), but concept clarification
- Mid-way checkpoints (August and October)
- Review portfolio performance
- Assess strategy vs. reality
Final Month & Evaluation
- Continue trading through the end of November
- Final portfolio evaluation
- Submit final strategy documentation
- Ranking and awards announcement

Evaluation & Scoring
Your final score is not just about how much money your portfolio made. It is a weighted score, meaning that each part of your performance contributes a different share to your total points. Think of the total score as 100 points split across five factors.
- Total Return: How much did your portfolio grow?
- Risk-Adjusted Return: How good were returns relative to risk (Sharpe Ratio)?
- Strategy Quality: How clear and coherent is your investment thesis?
- Documentation & Reflection: How well did you document decisions and learning?
- Risk Management: How well did you manage downside and volatility?
