Overview: Case Writing Academy is an intensive program designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to write compelling case studies. This workshop is ideal for faculty and staff from various disciplines who are interested in learning about the case method and case teaching, and who wish to develop their Armenia-focused case studies.

Eligibility:

• Open to any faculty member and staff across all disciplines.
• Intermediate to advanced English language proficiency is required.
• Mandatory participation in all three sessions.

Program Details:

Pre-Course Preparation:

• Assigned reading of several case studies, to be completed before the workshop. The reading materials will be provided by the 5th of July.

Session 1 (16th July, 13:30 - 16:00):

• Introduction to the principles of the case method and case teaching.
• Guidance on the case writing process, starting points, and identifying leads and needs.
• Discussion on making strategic choices in case development.
• Assistance in writing a case outline.
• Homework assignment for inter-session completion.

Session 2 (23rd July, 13:30 - 16:00):

• Hands-on session to begin crafting your case study focused on Armenia.
• Emphasis on the importance of engaging opening and closing paragraphs.
• Development of teaching plans to accompany case studies.

Session 3 (26th July, 13:30 - 14:30):

• Review and critique of participant’s case studies.
• An open Q&A session to address any remaining questions or concerns.

Outcome:

• Participants will gain a solid foundation in case study writing and teaching.
• A draft of their case study focused on issues pertinent to Armenia will be developed.
• Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop.

Cost:

• Free for all participants.

Application Process:

• Calls for applications are open until June 30th.
• Successful candidates will be notified by July 2nd.
• Limited to 25 participants to ensure a quality experience.
